THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Thayawady Township, Bago Region, held a ceremony to disburse revolving funds under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project at Banbwaygon Village yesterday. Implemented under the project’s eleventh round, the initiative aims to create employment opportunities and increase family incomes for rural people.
Head of the Thayawady Township Department of Rural Development U Naing Min Tun explained the project’s objectives and rules. The project officer then clarified interest rates and regulations before handing over the total revolving fund of K60 million to the members of the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project committees from Banbwaygon Village, Magyichaung Village and Nyaungkauk Village.
Under the supervision of the township DRD head, the committee members disbursed K55.7 million to 142 farmers, K4 million to 16 livestock breeders and K0.3 million to one borrower engaged in other businesses.
