MARBLE and art of carving production are back in operation in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region.
Marble production, which was suspended for over five years due to various reasons, has been revived since the end of the last Maha Thingyan festival period, according to experts from Madaya Township.
Marble blocks from Sagyin Village are mainly used for carving Buddha images, and are also used for carving vases and other household items. Sagyin Village is famous for its marble production and the art of carving in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region.
