AUTHORITIES have continued dismantling illegal buildings used in online fraud and illegal gambling activities in Shwe Kokko, according to official reports. The government said joint departmental teams are carrying out clearance work in Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas to prevent the continued use of illegal structures for online scam operations.

Equipment used in such activities has also been systematically destroyed, and illegal buildings are fully demolished. On the latest day of action, three four-storey residential buildings used in online scam activities were demolished using heavy machinery.

The structures were part of a list of 77 buildings identified for removal, which includes 57 to be demolished using machinery and 20 to be destroyed by explosive methods. Officials confirmed that a total of 15 buildings have now been demolished so far. The remaining 62 illegal structures will continue to be dismantled in further stages. The authorities also stated that efforts to combat online scam networks are being carried out as a national responsibility, in cooperation with neighbouring countries and international partners, to prevent such activities from re-establishing in Myanmar.
