The stake-driven ceremony for the construction of a new building for the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre was held yesterday morning at the site located at the corner of Shwe Kyar Pin Road and Myat Mingala Road in Dhana Theikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
The ceremony was attended by Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), Lt-Gen Min Naing, Secretary of the NSPNC, and committee members, Union Ministers, departmental heads and officials, guests, and the managing director and chief engineer of the construction company responsible for the project.
The NSPNC secretary presented a detailed explanation of the new building of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre to be constructed.
Afterwards, the NSPNC chairman drove the central stake into the ground, while the NSPNC secretary, Union ministers, and senior officials drove stakes at their respective locations to mark the foundation. They then scattered auspicious flowers, sprinkled scented water, and toured the construction site of the centre.
The new two-storey National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre building is being constructed with funding from the Union Budget allocated to the Department of National Solidarity and Peacemaking and will occupy a land area of 8.5 acres. The building will include a total of 41 rooms on the first floor and 42 rooms on the ground floor, including a conference hall with a seating capacity of approximately 180 people for meetings and a dining hall that can accommodate around 200 people. The structure is designed as an earthquake-resistant two-storey building.
