President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Russian State Duma Deputy Chair Sholban Kara-ool of Russia at the Presidential Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
Also present at the meeting together with the President were President’s Office Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe. The Russian delegation included Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov, and officials.
Both sides cordially discussed the delegation’s attendance at the presidential inauguration ceremony, the strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, and plans to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
They also exchanged views on expanding cooperation across various sectors and noted Russia’s continued support for Myanmar at international forums.
After the meeting, the President and the Russian State Duma Deputy Chair took documentary photographs together with attendees. — MNA/KZL
