President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus Mr Igor Sergeyenko at the Presidential Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

Also present at the meeting together with the President were President’s Office Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe. The Belarus delegation included Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar Mr Uladzimir Baravikou, and officials.

Both sides cordially discussed matters relating to the Belarus delegation’s attendance at the presidential inauguration ceremony, the strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, and the exchange of visits between leaders and senior officials.

They also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, industrial, agricultural, education, tourism and cultural sectors, as well as promoting parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Afterwards, the Speaker of the Belarusian Lower House presented a commemorative congratulatory gift from President Aleksandr Lukashenko to President U Min Aung Hlaing.

Following the meeting, the two sides exchanged souvenirs and took documentary photographs together with attendees. — MNA/KZL
