AN art exhibition titled “Temporal: Deception” featuring the works of artists Win Myint Oo and Sithu is currently being held at BRICK Studio at the Secretariat, Yangon, Gate 8, Anawrahta Road from 25 to 29 December.
“Throughout history, science and philosophy have attempted to describe time in various ways, yet it has failed. But we already know how rapidly changes can occur within a single second. In this exhibition, you will experience how two artists, who have travelled through different periods, perceive time based on their different perspectives, beliefs, and experiences. Please come and enjoy how unique they are,” the exhibition organizer stated.
Artist Win Myint Oo explores the relationship between light and shadow, colour and form through a monochromatic illustrative style, expressing the connection between the body, machinery, and the soul, accompanied by the poetry of Nwe Oo Hlaing.
“I am showcasing three collage pieces. The first is titled ‘Time Consumes Time’, depicting the shell of a time machine left behind. The second piece is ‘Time Consumes Man’, attaching a small, good-deed funeral fan onto the canvas. It includes spirit, the Samsara cycle, and a sunset. Just imagine how many fans have been offered and how many more to come. The final piece serves as a reminder that nothing is permanent. I experimented to find ‘black within black,” said artist Win Myint Oo.
This art exhibition will be open for five days at BRICK Studio from 10 am to 5 pm.
