ACCORDING to the Myanmar Press Council, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation between the media sectors of Myanmar and Thailand was signed in Bangkok, Thailand, on 1 August.
The MOU was signed by Chairman Dr Tin Tun Oo of the Myanmar Press Council and Chairman Mr Chavarong Limpattamapanee of the Thai Press Council. The signing followed a meeting and discussion between the two chairpersons in Bangkok.
While in Thailand from 31 July to 2 August, Dr Tin Tun Oo and members of the Myanmar Press Council also visited several Thai media organizations, including the Bangkok Post, the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), and Maha Chai Cable TV, to study their operations.
Joining Dr Tin Tun Oo on the study tour were MPC Secretary U Aye Chan and MPC Second Joint Secretary U Ye Min Soe.
