RENOVATION works are being done at the Ye train station located in Mon State’s Ye Township, Aung Myitta Ward. Train journeys are expected to resume as soon as possible, according to the Myanma Railways.
Renovations are being carried out at the station building, railway facilities, and platforms, and the cleaning of the area around the station is still in progress. This plan is aimed at helping the socioeconomic development of residents and facilitating the freight sector development. Ye-Mawlamyine train schedules are being managed to resume safely as soon as possible.
In addition, plans are also underway for a new Ye-Dawei railroad project which connects Ye with Taninthayi Region for the transport and tourism sectors. — TWA/ZS
