THE XX Asian Games, hosted by Japan in 2026, concluded with a closing ceremony at Paloma Mizuho Sports Park on 4 October.
The closing ceremony featured a series of entertainment programmes, while the Games flag was handed over to Qatar, which will host the XXI Asian Games in 2030. The Asian Games were held from 14 September to 4 October, featuring 469 events across 43 sports.
More than 10,700 athletes from 46 countries competed. China topped the medal table with 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze medals, while host Japan finished second with 83 gold, 95 silver and 91 bronze medals. The Myanmar team competed in five sports and won medals in three.
The Myanmar Teqball team won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal, the Myanmar Esports team secured one gold medal, and the Myanmar Sepak Takraw team claimed one bronze medal. Myanmar finished 24th in the overall medal table with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
