A landslide caused by continuous heavy rain blocked the Kalay-Falam-Haka Road between mileposts 25/4 and 26/1 yesterday morning.
Road Special Task Force 10 carried out clearance work using sufficient manpower and machinery to reopen the road as soon as possible and ensure safe travel for the public. The road was reopened to traffic yesterday evening.
Deputy Minister for Construction Dr Thaung Naing, who is in Chin State to oversee rehabilitation work, yesterday morning inspected the road conditions along the Kalay-Falam-Haka Road together with members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee.
Officials reported on the ongoing work, and the deputy minister instructed the officials to make special efforts to prevent disruptions to road transport. He also instructed them to keep sufficient manpower and machinery ready to respond promptly to any difficulties with road transport and to coordinate the necessary measures.
