A national-level workshop on “From Agricultural Development to National Productivity Growth” was held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning to promote agricultural, livestock and fisheries development, related industries, financial services and investment.
The workshop was chaired by Dr Maung Maung Thein, Deputy Minister (Retd) for Finance and Revenue, and attended by deputy ministers from the ministries of Finance and Revenue, Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Industry and MSME Development, and Commerce, along with representatives of business organisations.
The participants discussed the current situation and reforms needed to increase national output in the agriculture, livestock, fisheries, industry, finance, investment and export sectors and answered questions from attendees.
In the afternoon, deputy ministers and representatives of business organisations chaired sector-specific discussions. Speakers presented papers on their respective sectors, answered questions and discussed measures for implementation. The workshop will continue on 22 September with further sector-specific discussions. — MNA/MKKS
