A total of 60 PDF members, who accepted the peace processes of the State and the Tatmadaw, reentered the legal fold yesterday with firearms and ammunition. Ten Inlay PDFs, three Yinmabin PDFs, six DPLAs, two KNDFs, one Pekhon PDF, one Loikaw PDF and 37 PNLO, totalling 60 PDFs, rejoined the society with 35 firearms, one grenade, 46 magazines, eight bullets and one propellant charge. They were welcomed back at Thanlwin Hall of Eastern Command Headquarters.
The region chief minister presented a total of K181.8 million in rewards, including K2 million per pistol, K7.5 million for the bazooka, K5 million per rifle, K3 million for the double-barrel shotgun, K300,000 for the hand grenade, and K200,000 each for 60 returnees.
The returnees signed pledges and were subsequently handed over to their parents and guardians. There are still individuals who wish to return to the legal fold. Those who intend to do so are encouraged to promptly contact and report to the nearest Tatmadaw bases or police stations. They will be welcomed and accepted, provided with the necessary assistance and support, and cash rewards for any arms and ammunition.
