The Sanpya-Nanzalu concrete road, constructed by the Kalay District Rural Road Development Department with the Sagaing Region Government’s capital fund, has been completed, according to the regional government.
Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay, accompanied by regional ministers, inspected the completed road and gave necessary instructions regarding the project yesterday.
During the visit, the chief minister attended and encouraged a field demonstration on weeding and broadcasting fertilizer to increase monsoon paddy yields, held in the monsoon paddy field of local farmer U Maung Khin in Nanzalu Village, Kalay Township. The chief minister coordinated measures to address the requests of local farmers and distributed natural pesticides and foliar fertilizers to them.
Additionally, the chief minister visited the “Mitharsu” rice mill in Myotha Ward, Kalay, which has a daily milling capacity of 30-tonne, to observe milling, packaging and raw-material storage operations. He also attended a field demonstration on the application of gypsum and triple superphosphate fertilizers to rehabilitate flood-submerged monsoon paddy fields in Chanmyay Aungsi Ward along the Kalay-Tonzang Cikung-Kalewa Highway. He then inspected healthcare services being provided to patients at the local Tatmadaw Hospital.
