DRUGS worth K303.7 million were seized in Waingmaw Township and drugs worth K92 million were seized in Amarapura and Singaing townships, according to the Myanmar Police Force. Acting on a tip-off, a combined team including members of the Drug Enforcement Division searched a vehicle driven by Gunsan near Mongna Village in Waingmaw Township at 7:30 pm on 27 August. The team confiscated 5.85 kilogrammes of heroin worth an estimated K128.7 million and 2.5 kilogrammes of Happy Water valued at K175 million.
Similarly, a combined team including members of the Drug Enforcement Division searched a house belonging to Kyaw Soe and Ma Thanda Oo in Amarapura Township at 4:30 pm on 26 August. The authorities seized 20,000 stimulant tablets worth K40 million. Afterwards, based on information obtained during the investigation, the combined team arrested Ma Nwe Nwe Tun, who had transported the stimulant tablets, at 6 pm on the same day.
They seized 4,000 stimulant tablets worth K800,000 and a Canda motorcycle from her possession, as well as 22,000 stimulant tablets worth K44 million from her house in Singaing Township. Legal action has been taken against the offenders in accordance with the law.
