A ceremony to donate rice and utensils to nunneries in Nay Pyi Taw took place at Mingala Byuha Sasana Beikman in Pyinmana yesterday afternoon, attended by Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Daw Kyu Kyu Hla donated rice and utensils to Pyingyi Sasana Wepunla and Chanmyay Gonwai nunneries and Amarawati education centre in Pobbathiri Township.
Daw San San Aye, the wife of the First Vice-President, the wife of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, the wife of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and officials presented rice and equipment to nunneries.
The wife of the President and attendees shared merits gained.
Also present at the ceremony were wives of the Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw, wives of the Union-level dignitaries and officials.
Donations of rice, personal items, and cash amounting to K156,273,400 of rice and utensils for 1,474 nuns from 64 nunneries in Nay Pyi Taw were reportedly made yesterday. — MNA/TTA
