Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mr Alexander Turchin paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Belarus, at the President Hotel in Minsk at 10:45 am local time yesterday.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Belarus warmly welcomed President U Min Aung Hlaing on his official visit to the Republic of Belarus. In his welcoming remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the close personal friendship between President U Min Aung Hlaing and the President of Belarus, their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and friendship, the ongoing implementation of the Myanmar-Belarus Cooperation Roadmap (2026-2028), and his confidence that discussions during the visit would further advance bilateral cooperation and contribute to the success of the official visit.
In response, the President expressed his deep gratitude to Belarus for the warm and hospitable welcome extended to the high-level Myanmar delegation, remarked on the cool and pleasant weather experienced upon arrival in Minsk, expressed confidence that his visit would lead to successful discussions across various sectors and further strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation, and, highlighting Myanmar’s role as an ASEAN member, reaffirmed Myanmar’s position as a close and trusted friend of Belarus in Southeast Asia and its commitment to further strengthening friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The President and the Prime Minister of Belarus held cordial discussions on expanding multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in agriculture, livestock, trade and investment. — MNA/TH
