MORE than 1,000 youths, including university students, attended “Youth Talk 2026” held at the National Theatre in Dagon Township, Yangon Region, yesterday.
The event, organized by the Yangon Region Young Entrepreneurs Association, aims to provide a platform for young people to share ideas and experiences, strengthen cooperation, promote leadership, creativity and social responsibility, and foster a more united community.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr Maung Thin, Vice-Chairman 1 of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee, said the discussion would broaden young people’s knowledge and perspectives. He also urged youth to leverage creativity and innovation to pursue new business opportunities beyond traditional employment.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu also delivered remarks, followed by a video presentation on youth development activities marking International Youth Day 2026. The Youth Talk 2026 discussions were then launched.
Earlier that morning, the Union minister attended the “Job-Ready Skills Workshop for Youth”, jointly organized by Yangon University of Distance Education (YUDE) and the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA). The workshop, which will run until 16 August, covers personal development, organizational cooperation, interview and workplace skills, and workplace-related legal knowledge. — MNA/KTZH
