BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 5:30 pm MST today, the low-pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal and off West Bengal, India – Bangladesh coasts persists. It is likely to become a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area during the next 12 hours and move northwestwards and intensify into a Depression and across West Bengal, India and adjoining Bangladesh coasts during the next 36 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF 13 August 2026:Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls inYangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon and Rakhine States.The degree of certainty is 100 per cent.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and eastern Shan States. In the area along the cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied by rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance of these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along the Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mile per hour. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along the Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon and Rakhine states.
