FLOODING in the Aingthabyu intersection area in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, has now receded, according to the regional government.
In line with measurements at 1:20 pm on 6 August, the water level in the area has visibly decreased.
Although river water levels have receded, a combined team led by the township administrator, together with ward and village administrators, continues to closely monitor water conditions and the potential for further flooding to ensure public safety and facilitate the restoration of transport services.
Through the installation of geobags and steel sheet piles, riverbank erosion has been brought under control, while efforts to protect farmland and public infrastructure from flooding continue uninterrupted.
