ACCORDING to the observations at 6:30 am MST today, due to the strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the South Bay of Bengal, due to the unstable air conditions over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal areas of West Bengal, India, and the strong development of the convective clouds, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls from today morning to 11 August 2026.
Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 miles per hour. The wave height will be about 9-11 feet in the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. The squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in the Deltaic, off and along the Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 miles per hour. The wave height will be about 7-9 feet in the Deltaic, off and along the Rakhine Coasts.
