The 11th Myanma Lethwei World Championship will be held on 9 August at the Theinbyu Traditional Myanma Lethwei Gymnasium in Yangon, featuring title bouts across four weight classes.
The event, organized by the Traditional Myanma Lethwei Federation and Myanmar Martial Arts Group (MMAG), will feature 56-kilogramme, 60-kilogramme, 67-kilogramme and 75-kilogramme bouts for the championship’s gold belts.
In the 56-kilogramme bout, Salai Than Khui Hsein (Kyar Ma Naing) will face Hein Tun Aung (Khay Yu Wah), while MLWC gold-belt champion Aye Myee (Aye Kyar Nyo) will meet Than Zin (Python Tawwin Ayeya) in the 60-kilogramme class.
In the 67-kilogramme class, MLWC gold medallist Naing Win Tun (Nine Lethwei) will take on Kambya Shar (Zar Htet Meiktila), while Tun Min Aung (Top One) will face MLWC gold medallist Yarman (Yoeya Swanar) in the 75-kilogramme class.
Other four-round bouts will feature Daung Maik Thwe (Nine Lethwei) against Saw Ruby (YMA) in the 53-kilogramme class and Kayin Flag winner Aung Ko Latt (Ray) against Saw Htein Lin (555 Sports) in the 65-kilogramme class.
The championship, mainly sponsored by Myanmar Economic Corporation, will begin at 2 pm on 9 August. — Bala/KZL
