THE Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) and ITE Russia held preliminary online talks on a proposed memorandum of understanding to boost tourism and establish long-term cooperation on 27 July, the federation said.
ITE Russia representative Mr John, along with MTF’s chairman and executive members, attended the online session. Mr. John clarified that the proposed MOU is non-binding in both legal and financial terms.
Furthermore, it would promote Myanmar’s tourism industry in Russia, Uzbekistan, and other CIS markets and enable joint efforts to enhance the visibility of ITE exhibitions within Myanmar. ITE’s Connect Digital B2B platform currently has over 260,000 active users and invited Myanmar tourism businesses to join.
The MTF chairman said the non-binding nature of the proposed MoU made it an appropriate framework for cooperation. He added that its effective implementation would support joint promotional activities, raise Myanmar’s international tourism profile, attract more visitors to the country’s destinations, and bring significant benefits to the sector, particularly if Myanmar is featured on ITE Group’s platforms as a tourism destination. The draft MOU will be further reviewed at the next meeting, officials said. The session concluded with a Q&A segment.
