ALL 77 illegal buildings used for online scam and gambling activities in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas of Myawady Township, Kayin State, have been completely demolished, according to reports.
A combined departmental team carried out the final controlled demolition of a 17-storey illegal building in the Shwe Kokko area, marking the completion of the demolition of all buildings designated for removal.
Of the 77 illegal buildings identified in the area, 57 were demolished using heavy machinery, while 20 were destroyed through controlled explosions. The final 17-storey building was among those designated for controlled demolition.
The demolition process began on 25 May 2026, with authorities using machinery and controlled explosions to remove buildings that had been used for online scam and illegal gambling activities.
The government stated it would continue efforts to combat online scams and illegal gambling as a national responsibility, working with domestic forces and neighbouring countries to prevent such activities from operating in Myanmar. — MNA/KZL
