IN a statement issued on 24 July, Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo said notary documents which are being counterfeited are found among applications for the notary attestation.
Notary documents are required for study, work and doing business in Japan and the notary section under the Consular and Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has attested documents only notarized by notary public lawyers who are certified by the Union Supreme Court, said the statement.
Therefore, those who want to apply the embassy’s notary attestation are urged not to hire agents to avoid unwanted losses and protect from making fake documents, it said.
The Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo will offer the attestation for trusted documents only that are certified by MOFA in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon and have at least six-month validity. — TWA/ZS
