THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held a rainy season tree-growing ceremony yesterday along the village production road at Narkham Village in Mongnai Township to commemorate World Rural Development Day. State Hluttaw Representative U Sai Kyaw Win spoke on the opening occasion.
Mongnai Township Department of Rural Development Head U Maung Khine then explained that the tree-planting campaign was organized to promote environmental conservation, create a greener landscape, and help maintain a balanced climate. Officials also distributed saplings for planting along both sides of the village production road.
Following the ceremony, the Shan State Hluttaw representative, departmental officials, and local villagers jointly planted 120 shade trees at designated locations along the road.
