TICKETS for the Yangon-Mawlamyine DEMU train service will be available for purchase online from 24 June, according to the Mawlamyine Railway Station.
At present, the Online Railways Ticketing and Payment System (ORTP) is being used only for Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon and Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon DEMU train services.
“The DEMU train service will begin operating on 1 July. Tickets will go on sale seven days in advance, starting on 24 June. They will be sold exclusively online and will not be available at railway stations. Tickets for both trains based in Mawlamyine will be sold through the online system,” an official from the Mawlamyine Railway Station said.
Ticket prices for the DEMU services are expected to be approximately K16,000 for First Class and K22,000 for Upper Class. — MNA/KNN
