The Myanma Port Authority announced sales of three tugboats individually through an open tender system.
Tug Cathay-3 (steel hull), IMO 9447500, has a registered tonnage of 153 tonnes, a length of 21.96 metres, a beam of 7.32 metres and a draft of 3.20 metres, while Tug Cathay-7 (steel hull), IMO 9489132, has a registered tonnage of 144 tonnes, a length of 21.96 metres, a beam of 7.32 metres and a draft of 3.20 metres. Meanwhile, Tug Cathay-21 (steel hull), IMO 9311933, has a registered tonnage of 122 tonnes, a length of 21.81 metres, a beam of 7.00 metres and a draft of 2.90 metres.
Tender applications will be evaluated in accordance with the Directive of the Office of the President 1/2017, Paragraphs 23/24. These three vessels are currently maintained within the Pathein Port yard in Ayeyawady Region. Interested domestic and international companies can inspect the vessels in person. If foreign companies want to compete, they must have the endorsement of the relevant Myanmar embassies in their country.
Tender application forms can be purchased at the Central Store Depot in Botahtaung until 23 June. Tender applications must be submitted to the MPA by 1 pm on 25 June. The preliminary opening and acceptance of tenders are slated to be held at 2 pm on 7 May.
This tender is an auction sale conducted under Section 11 of the Ports Act 1908 and Section 66(b) of the Myanma Port Authority Law 2015. Therefore, MPA has the right to cancel the tender in whole or in part if any cause arises under the provisions of these laws. Such cancellation will be publicly notified.
