DEFENCE Services Deputy Commander-in-Chief and Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin met instructors and trainees at the hall of the Military Computer and Technological Institute in Hopong Station yesterday morning.
Accompanied by senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of the Eastern Command and party, the General heard reports by the acting commandant of MCTI on the training sessions with upgraded training aid, and military building measures.
The General instructed officials to keep subject-wise books for trainees at the libraries and coordinated necessary measures with officials.
At Bayintnaung Hall of the institute, the General met with officer instructors and trainees. On the occasion, the General said that instructors need to train trainees to become more capable and outstanding than themselves. Since their responsibility is to produce Tatmadaw members with technical expertise who can genuinely be relied upon by Tatmadaw, they must continuously study and keep abreast of evolving modern technologies.
The General stressed the need for Tatmadaw to adopt evolving and modernized military strategies, military skills, weapons systems, and technologies in line with the changing times. Hence, he added that all trainees are required to become fully qualified in both military science and professional skills.
Trainees are required to become capable technicians needed by the State and the Tatmadaw, as well as good citizens, and to remain loyal to the State and the Tatmadaw.
After the meeting, the General inspected the lecture halls, hostels for engineering trainees and trainee mess halls. He observed the preparations to cook meals in the kitchens and the ration stores.
The General gave instructions on systematic serving of healthy meals to trainees and keeping meat, fish and vegetables systematically. The General, together with his wife Daw Nang Kue Ku and officials, viewed the housing at the regiments and units in the station and thriving seasonal crops by car. He presented foodstuffs and cash awards to families and fulfilled their needs. — MNA/TTA
