Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo yesterday morning observed the distribution of school enrolment campaign pamphlets at the intersection in the centre of Eindu Village in Hpa-an Township to commuters, vendors inside Eindu Market, and shoppers.

The pamphlets included details of the school enrolment programme, free support programmes, guidelines to be followed, and requests to parents and guardians. He urged parents and guardians to enrol school-age children from their communities at school.

The Chief Minister visited Eindu Village Basic Education High School and inspected the advance preparations for school enrolment starting from 25 May, as well as the preparation of providing school textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, pencils, and pens for students free of charge. He also commended the schoolhead for using bio-diesel fuel extracted through the distillation of waste plastics in single-cylinder diesel engines, and presented him with an honorary award.

In order to promote the comprehensive development of Lunnya blue lagoon, a tourist destination in the state, he went on to inspect Hlakadaung lake in Hpa-an Township. — Saw Myo Min Thein (IPRD)/TH
