Families and residents warmly welcomed back public military service graduate personnel from Batch 2/2024 after they completed their assigned service duties.

Tatmadaw said the trainees had voluntarily joined under the People’s Military Service Law and served in security, defence and disaster response duties alongside permanent military personnel during their service period.

On 18 May, military commands awarded certificates of completion, commemorative medals and honour certificates to the trainees before they returned to their respective hometowns and families.

Upon their arrival, family members and locals greeted them with garlands, eugenia sprigs, honorary cash awards and traditional drum performances in various wards and villages. Social media posts also showed scenes of reunions and public welcomes for the returning servicemen.

According to reports, authorities are also coordinating employment opportunities, vocational training and job placement support for those who have completed their service period through relevant ministries, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and overseas employment agencies.
