Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, accompanied by his wife Daw Nilar, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) Lt-Gen Tun Win and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of the Eastern Command, and officials, yesterday morning inspected the progress in construction of Advanced War Veterans’ Housing (Ayethaya) in Ayethaya, Shan State (South).

At the briefing hall, Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Zaw Myo Tin reported to the General on the progress of the project, settlement of war veterans, further plans to settle war veterans, and requirements of water and electricity supply.

In response, the General gave instructions on the need to take care of the issues of war veterans as they are an important strength of Tatmadaw, and arrangements for convenient accommodation, food supply and transport for families of the war veterans’ housing, management for cleanliness and beautification of the housing compound, and proper drainage facilities.

The General observed the convenience shop in the compound of the housing and viewed the training of tailoring for families of war veterans. He also reviewed the completed residential buildings in the compound and the buildings under construction. The General cordially greeted war veterans and their families residing at the housing and presented foodstuffs.

Yesterday morning, the General and party inspected local battalions in Ayethaya, Heho and Kalaw stations and cordially greeted families. — MNA/TTA
