A ceremony for the handover of two Air Quality Monitoring Stations (AQMS) was held at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon yesterday morning.
The two units were donated by the Clean Air for Sustainable ASEAN (CASA) Project. The combined value of these monitoring stations is US$68,800.
During the handover ceremony, Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Aung Naing Thu delivered the opening remarks. This was followed by a video presentation regarding the CASA Project. Officials then proceeded to sign the formal documents to record the handover of the equipment. Subsequently, Professor Mr Ki Young Lee from Seoul National University, representing the CASA Project, expressed his words of thanks.
The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, regional ministers, officials from the CASA Project, the Director-General and responsible personnel from the Environmental Conservation Department, heads of regional departments, district and township-level officials, and other invitees.
