Myanmar National Airlines has begun operating a new domestic air route linking with and, following guidance from the President to improve transport access to remote areas.
The Ministry of Transport arranged the expansion so that travellers can move more easily and smoothly between regions where overland travel remains difficult.
Under the new schedule, flights will run three times per week, operating the route: Yangon-Manaung-Kyaukpyu -Yangon.
The maiden flight departed at 9 am yesterday using an XY-AMW aircraft, marking the official start of the service.
The Yangon-Kyaukpyu-Manaung-Kyaukpyu-Yangon rotation will be operated according to a fixed timetable, and locals have warmly welcomed the launch, expecting improved connectivity, trade opportunities, and easier travel for both personal and business purposes.
