The Kason Bayan Tree Watering Festival will be held in Chaungzon Township, Mon State, featuring Mon traditions and customs, including competitions, said Nai Aye Oo, Secretary of the Kason Bayan Tree Water-Pouring Festival Organizing Committee.
The Kason Bayan Tree Watering Festival, involving competing groups from all wards in Ywalut Village, Chaungzon Township, Mon State, will be held on the full moon day of Kason, 30 April. Prizes will be awarded based on team attire and collective performance.
“We have already provided the competing ward teams with funds for clothing. There will also be competitions in which the teams will be judged on their costumes, teamwork, appearance, and conduct, with first, second, and third prizes awarded. Consolation prizes will be given to the remaining teams,” said Nai Aye Oo.
Ywalut Village in Chaungzon Township is divided into eight wards. The annual Ywalut Bayan Tree Water-Pouring Festival attracts thousands of spectators from urban wards and other villages in Chaungzon Township.
