The first-day meeting of the First Regular Session of the Third Kayin State Hluttaw was held at 10 am on 20 March in the meeting hall of the State Hluttaw Office, with all 23 members permitted to attend, resulting in full attendance.
U Saw Myint Oo, Hluttaw Representative of Hpa-an Township Constituency 1, was elected as the meeting chair. The meeting chair took affirmations in front of the Hluttaw, signed the form of affirmations and extended greetings.
The Chair then declared that the first regular session of the Third Kayin State Hluttaw was quorate and that the meeting officially commenced. State Hluttaw representatives made affirmations in the presence of the Chair and signed the oath affirmations. The Chair presided over the meeting and nominated and supported U San Ko, Hluttaw Representative from Thandaunggyi Township Constituency 1 and U Aye Min Htwe, Hluttaw Representative from Myawady Township Constituency 1, as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Kayin State Hluttaw, respectively.
Afterwards, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker made affirmations before the Chair and signed the oath of office. The Chair then handed over the Hluttaw session’s responsibilities to Speaker U San Ko of the Kayin State Hluttaw, who delivered a speech.
