The Third Bago Region Hluttaw held its first regular session yesterday, attended by elected regional representatives and Defence Services personnel representatives. U Naing Min Swe (aka) U Tun Tun Oo was elected chairman to oversee proceedings until the formal election.
U Aung Cho Oo from the Pyay Constituency 1 was elected Speaker, and U Kyaw Htay from the Phyu Constituency 2 was elected Deputy Speaker under the 2013 Region or State Hluttaw Rules. Both signed the oath of office in the presence of the chairman.
