THE 2026 matriculation examination and the 2026 industrial, agricultural and livestock matriculation examinations continued to their sixth day yesterday nationwide, including at overseas examination centres.

For the 2026 matriculation examination, a total of 887 centres were opened this year, comprising 16 overseas centres and 871 domestic centres. Altogether, 268,753 candidates registered for the examination.

On the sixth day, 254,624 candidates sat Biology and Economics, while 14,129 were absent, resulting in an attendance rate of 94.74 per cent.

For the 2026 industrial, agricultural and livestock matriculation examinations, a total of 53 domestic centres were opened. A total of 3,386 candidates registered, of whom 3,364 sat the examinations – Carpentry and Woodworking, Industrial Electric Motor Control, and Machine Cutting Technology under the Mechanical subject; Social Sciences under the Agricultural subject; and Beef Cattle Breeding under the Livestock subject, while 22 candidates were absent, giving an attendance rate of 99.35 per cent, according to the Ministry of Education. — MNA/MKKS
