THE National Defence and Security Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar enacted the Anti-Money Laundering Law 2026 as the National Defence and Security Council Law 16/2026, in accord with Section 427 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, dated 11 March 2026.
The law, consisting of 17 chapters, aims to implement anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism, enhance the capacity of relevant organizations, exchange technological assistance, develop new technology for anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism, ensure policy development and cooperate in the research process.
