Myanmar won 24 ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026 held in Cebu, the Philippines, on 29-30 January, according to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
The Ministry stated that Myanmar received a total of 158 ASEAN Tourism Standard Awards between 2008 and 2026.
Myanmar has been implementing tourism development initiatives in line with the ASEAN standard to ensure comprehensive services and reliable quality experiences to tourists and create tourism destinations.
The 24 awards include ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award (three awards), ASEAN Green Hotel Award (five awards), ASEAN Mice Venue Award (10 awards), ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award (two awards) and ASEAN Public Toilet Standard Award (four awards).
