The State, under the Constitution, protects and safeguards the rights of its citizens, while citizens, in turn, are obliged to fulfil their duties to the nation. Those good citizens who are willing to carry out these responsibilities diligently attend public military service training courses and are assigned to various units and formations, where they proudly perform duties related to national defence and security.

Among these public military service personnel, those who have completed the full duration of their mandatory service and are eligible for certain concessions were presented with certificates of completion at a ceremony held yesterday afternoon at the Thanlwin Hall of Eastern Command Headquarters. The event was attended by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Commander Brig-Gen Kyaw Naing Oo, officers, other ranks and family members.

The commander first delivered an opening address. Following this, the chief minister, the Commander, and other officials presented the certificates and honorary monetary awards to the public military service personnel who had completed their designated service period.

In addition, it was reported that those who have diligently performed their public military service will continue to receive assistance in securing employment, both domestically and abroad, according to their preferences and in accordance with established guidelines. Relevant authorities will coordinate with the domestic/overseas employment assignment committees to ensure that necessary arrangements are made for job placement.
