Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, the Yangon Region Chief Minister, the Commander of Yangon Command and officials, inspected the implementation of the Shwepyi agriculture and livestock zone of Myanmar Economic Corporation in Hmawby Township, Yangon Region, yesterday afternoon.

At the briefing hall of the zone, the in-charge of the zone reported to the Senior General on raising layers and future plans, breeding of pigs and piglet production, cultivation of hybrid maize, construction of the feedstuff factory and efforts to produce high-yield maize seeds.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General stressed that systematic arrangements must be made to sell fresh livestock, fish, eggs and vegetables produced from the agriculture and livestock zone to the market.

He added that the implementation of agriculture and livestock zones in Yangon Region aims to supply livestock, fish, eggs and vegetables for the more than seven million population of the region daily.

The Senior General highlighted that only when production and consumption are balanced will commodity prices be fair.

He continued that it is necessary to systematically calculate the daily meat consumption of the more than seven million population in the region, and the relevant zones needed to produce agriculture and livestock products to meet the demand.

He underscored that efforts must be underway to further develop agriculture and livestock farms for residents of the region to purchase commodities at fair prices.

The Senior General gave guidance that it is necessary to swiftly distribute livestock, fish, eggs and vegetables to the markets for consumers.

The Senior General viewed the layout of the Shwepyi agriculture and livestock zone and gave guidance for the development of the zone.

In visiting the zone, the Senior General inspected the raising of layers in the fully automatic system and the breeding of pigs and left necessary guidance.
