ACCORDING to the observations at 5:30 pm MST today, due to the well marked low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal(India), monsoon will be strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, due to the easterly waves and westerly waves, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavy falls during tonight to 24 June 2025. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in the Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet in the Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

People should be aware of the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, lightning strikes, lightning, hails, flash floods and landslides in the hilly areas and near small rivers and to make necessary preparations for inland water transport, domestic flights and irrigation dams.
