Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, accompanied by regional ministers, inspected the demolition and clearing of dangerous buildings damaged in the recent Mandalay earthquake and the construction of container houses in downtown Mandalay on the morning of 17 May.

The inspection began in Chanayethazan, Mahaaungmyay, and Aungmyaythazan Townships, where dangerous residential buildings affected by the quake were being removed using heavy machinery by the Mandalay City Development Committee (MCDC). The chief minister instructed officials to strictly enforce workplace safety measures and ensure necessary support.

He then inspected the placement and construction of 150 container houses for MCDC staff on 66th Street, between 35th and 36th Streets in Mahaaungmyay Township. He listened to reports by officials and attended to the needs.

The chief minister also visited the Mandalay Aungmyay Mandala Gymnasium in Aungmyaythazan Township, which will host as an exam venue for the 2025 Dhammacariya and Pali Pahtamabyan exams. He instructed staff to ensure the venue meets all requirements and maintain cleanliness in the surroundings.
