A total of 84 Indonesian citizens were deported to their country via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II yesterday, in accordance with legal procedures, humanitarian considerations, and the friendship between countries. Minister for Security and Border Affairs of the Karen State government Colonel Min Thu Kyaw and officials closely monitored the process to ensure smooth deportation.
The handover ceremony was held and attended by the minister for Security and Border Affairs of the Kayin State government, the director of the Citizen Protection Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Mr Judha Nugraha, the Deputy District Commander of the Immigration Department of Thailand’s Tak Province Mr Sermkiat Kampira, and other officials. Officials from Myanmar handed over the documents related to the extradition to the officials of the relevant countries.
The government is thoroughly investigating and identifying all those involved in online scams and gambling. It continues to take action through international organizations, including neighbouring countries, with particular emphasis on the trilateral cooperation between Myanmar, China, and Thailand.
The government is actively working to expose those involved in the Online Scam Centre and the foreign masterminds and take effective action against them. It is also making efforts to repatriate trafficked foreigners and those facing hardships to their respective countries as quickly as possible.
