SECURITY forces have denied claims made by malicious news media that they set fire to villages in YeU and Taze townships, destroying 170 homes. According to a statement from a local security official, between 16 and 19 November, security personnel were conducting necessary security operations in line with prescribed guidelines and regulations. However, there was no arson or destruction of villages.
The official confirmed that security forces were committed to protecting civilian lives, homes, and property. The real threat came from terrorists who had taken refuge in the villages, obstructing peace efforts and stability. These insurgents have reportedly been attacking civilian structures like schools and homes to disrupt peace and security in the region. Malicious media outlets, the statement added, are spreading false information to cover up the terrorists violent activities and mislead the public regarding the actions of security forces.
