Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by Myanmar Consul-General U Thwin Htet Lin, received Mr Xu Ganlu, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Public Security of China, at Shang Shui Ballroom of Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Kunming, Yunnan Province, on 21 November.
The two parties exchanged views on Myanmar’s peace processes, inspection to allow entry and exit at border areas of the two countries, strict security measures at border posts in armed organizations-controlled areas, systematic checking plans on entry and exit of border posts in shared borders with Myanmar, proper technical assistance and capacity building activities for enumeration process of the population and household census of Myanmar, proper cooperation for immigration processes at border entries and exits, support in the implementation of projects conducted by China, reopening of border posts as usual and further cooperation to ensure state stability under the existing Pauk-Phaw friendship.
After the meeting, the Chinese vice-minister hosted lunch for the Myanmar delegation.
Union Minister U Myint Kyaing-led delegation arrived back in Yangon in the same afternoon.
