In Chin State’s Mindat Township, unverified and false reports were spread by unlawful media outlets, claiming that security forces burned down homes along the Mindat-Matupi Road, specifically in the western neighbourhood near Bayintnaung Street.
According to an official security source, reports are entirely false. The actual situation involved PDF terrorists entering the township, recruiting new members, and extorting money from locals. Upon receiving confidential information from residents, security forces deployed themselves to maintain regional security. Upon arrival, terrorists initiated a gunfire and fled the scene.
During their retreat, terrorists set fire to several homes to prevent security forces from pursuing them further. Malicious media outlets aligned with terrorists are now distorting the facts, accusing security forces of committing arson in an attempt to cover up the perpetration of terrorists who are using villages as a shield for their operations.
