DURING the past 24 hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northern Myanmar areas.

Tropical Storm “SOULIK” over South China Sea has moved Westwards and is crossing Vietnam coast, North of Da Nang. It is likely to continue to move the inland areas of Vietnam. The remanant clouds and wind wave from the tropical storm start cross over Southeastern parts of Myanmar and then continue to move West-Southwestwards and it may re-initiate into a Low-Pressure Area over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal on (20 September 2024). Due to the wave propagation speed, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls and strong wind during 20 September 2024 upto 25 September 2024.

Advisory

People should be awared of the heavy rainfall with strong wind, the natural disasters such as flash floods and landslides in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
