The award ceremony to honour the winners of the 2025 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Language Proficiency competition took place on 10 June in Yangon.
This competition was held in three categories (university, high school, and primary school), led by the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation and the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and co-organized by Fuxing Confucius Classroom and the Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Luo Jiajia, Qiu Jingjing and Zheng Kaixu secured the first prize in their respective categories.
Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr Li Qianguo, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, U Tin Oo, chairman of Myanmar-China Friendship Association, U Aik Tun, chairman of Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce and over 200 representatives from different industries were present at the ceremony.
Ms Ma Jia remarked that China-Myanmar diplomatic relations have marked their 75th anniversary. The ceremony occurred coincidentally with International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations. The “Chinese Bridge” competition also contributes to the implementation of the Global Civilization Initiative (CGI). It will also attract young people to learn Chinese. I hope they explore the historic tradition and culture behind the language and can become China-Myanmar friendship diplomats.
U Tin Oo and U Aik Tun also delivered the remarks, respectively, highlighting the important role of the Chinese language proficiency competition in strengthening China-Myanmar friendship.
